Safeguarding
Safeguarding is essential for keeping our children safe, it is the actions we take to promote the welfare of our children and protect them from harm. The Department for Education defines safeguarding as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment
- Preventing impairment of children's health and development
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
Safeguarding Team
At Whitfield C of E School we have a dedicated safeguarding team and maintain and follow key policies and procedures, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility, we all have a role to play. If you have any concerns about a child please contact our team who will be able to deal with your concern in a professional and supportive manner.
